The staff of Lorraine Primary School took to the stage in August and the result was fun-filled performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Emperor’s New Clothes.
Almost the entire staff, two secretaries and one of the caretakers dressed up and performed, much to the delight of the parents, family and friends of the school and, most especially, to the learners, who roared with delight at the antics of their teachers.
There were superheroes swinging on ropes, climbing on ladders and throwing rocks, jockeys riding horses (really seven dwarfs with a difference), beautiful dancers, a shiny, talking mirror, a very funny jester, a juggler who could cartwheel, a king who was checking out a group of ladies to decide which one would be his bride, Snow White hitching a ride on a motor bike, the Minister of Safety doing security checks on everyone, and two "skelm" weavers who cunningly got money, food and drinks (with "eish") out of an emperor, who was happy to parade through the hall clad only in his underwear!
Add to this many other colourful characters, and a royal wedding to boot, and you can see why such fun was had by both those on the stage and in the audience!
